Yes I know, no they don't, different tape width, different tape pitch. vastly different audio system. Digital* playback or expensive transfer is only way.

He's right, I'm afraid. VHS-C was just a scaled-down version of a standard VHS cassette, using the same tape. Hi-8 is a totally different format. Better get yourself down to Ebay pronto

but there are companies who can take your originals and put them on a DVD for you , have a look at :-
