New or old Panasonic NV-GS range?...Canon ???

I see that Panasonic are releasing their new line of NV-GS range. Obviously these are going to be somewhat pricey for their catergory. Should we go for one of the older models or wait for the new but probably will only be able to afford a lesser model if we wait for the new.

Also, to make things more confusing I see Canon are releasing a new range of mini DV 3CCD models with the MV960 the most appealing. Has anyone got any pointers please? Many thanks!

I bought a Panasonic GS 400 and am very pleased with it (my previous camera is a Sony TRV 900) & I reckon the GS400 has the edge on picture quality. For some strange reason though I find the verticals difficult to get right.
