Cool Sony HC19 low lighting

I'm considering buying a Sony HC19 camcorder, but my concern is the fact that it has only 5 lux minimum illumination, what sort of detail would I get at night inside a room with normal lighting, would it be slightly grainy or unwatchable?
My previous camera is a Sony hi8 trv407 which has a minimum illumination of less than 1 lux, would there be a considerable difference between the two?
would appreciate some advice.

Hi Jock, the picture is slightly grainy indoors with normal lighting, but nothing to write home about. Im fussy and I find it acceptable for the price (£199). This is an incredibly good camcorder.
