Question DV camera with 'Video' input?

HI there.

I want to backup a lot of VHS tapes onto DV for use in future edits. The thing is, I've never had to use a plain video signal before, and my camera (A Sony DCR109) doens't have a video input, just a DV in and out.

So, do any DV camera's have a composite video input on them? So I can just take a RCA from the VHS to a a jack into the Camera?

If anyone knows of one, or would like further info if I'm unclear here, I'd really appreciate a reply.

Oh, and I need to go into the camera rather than directly into a PC for two reasons. 1) I'd like it backed up on tape, and it'll waste time to go into the PC then back to tape, and 2) I don't have a video in on the PC either, I'm just using a Vaio laptop, and everything's firewire.

Thanks in advance.

Jspoi.

The feature you are after on a cam is normally called AV-in (analogue input) and is available on a fair few models, but by no means all. This site lists a lot of models available with AV-in and a search of this forum for 'bullet cam' etc should also bring up loads of info.

Mark.

Thanks Mark. I appreciate your help - and clearing up the definition. I sat here thinking it was AV - but convinced myself that wouldn't be it... too much time sitting here I think.
