Using my Canon MV730i i would like to record some footage off my PS2

Whats the best way to record from a TV -

so far i have the av lead with 3 phonos and i`ve just bought a scart adaptor with switchable IN/OUT - will this enable me to record my PS2 game>?

I would think that your av lead with 3 phonos is for taking data out of the camcorder rather than inputting it, so I very much doubt you'll be able to record this way from your PS2.

According to the Canon website your cam has analogue in capability so all you will have to do is connect your av lead to the scart adapter, make sure it is set to out, plug it into you PS2, plug the other end into the cam, set the cam to record from av (look in the manual) and off you go.
Some cams also have passthrough capability. This means that you can connect the FireWire cable to your PC and send the PS2 output straight to the PC without first recording to tape. Look in the manual to see if yours can do this.
