HVR-A1E HDR-FX1E Editing Programs?

Just wanted to know if I can use Premiere 6.1 or Final Cut Pro 3 if I shoot in HD and downconvert to SD. Machine is Powermac G4 Dual 533Mhz, 100gb, SuperDrive Zip Drive, G Force 3 Scuzzy Card, DVD Writer SuperDrive, Airpoet Card OSX + OS9.22 Dual Boot Machine. Or do I need special HD software? Thanks.

FCP will handle downconverted DV output from an HDV camcorder shooting in HDV, HDV is innately widescreen, you cannot shoot 4:3 in HDV mode although you can in SD mode.

If your mac can handle DV editing at present then there is no reason why it could not handle DV ouptut from an FX1 or A1.
