Hi

I've basically narrowed my search down to the following two camcorders:

1. Sony DCR-HC22 - £273
2. Panny NV-GS75 - £330

basically from what I've read in a magazine.

Will the picture quality on the Panny be better - it has 3 x 1/6in (540k) CCD whilst the sony has 1/6in (800k) CCD. I'm assuming that you multiply the 3 x 540 k on the panny model?

Has anyone used one of these or can recommend them?

Have a browse of this site http://www.camcorderinfo.com/ lots of useful info, reviews and user comments there. When I was deciding on a new camcorder last summer I had it shortlisted down to the HC-39, HC-42 and the GS75 and after reading the reviews opted for the HC-39E.
