What information do you have at the moment? I have a Canon MV850i which has the symbol of a battery in the viewfinder. As the battery goes down the segments on the symbol get less. Its as accurate as anything I have used in the past. When it goes down I just stick another battery on.

I think what potatoman is on about is the infolithium battery on Sony cams that passes accurate info on the number of minutes remaining on the battery rather than just the 3 or so bars in the picture of a battery that seems to be standard on most equipment, even my mobile phone. By the sound of your reply though ellington it doesn't sound like Canon cams have this feature.

I.m with you now. I seem to remember having something similar with my early Sony Mavica stills camera. My Canon certainly does not have that sort of info.
