Playing from camcorder to plasma

I have a recently-purchased plasma screen which I am happy with. I have a Sony camcorder which I am happy with. However, the plasma will only accept component video which the camcorder does not output.
Neither my DVD player nor VCR have plugs for the camcorder output.
There is a dongle which would convert the camcorder output to SCART but I am told the playback quality would be low.
It has been suggested that I could buy a HDD/DVD recorder with DV in which would work but may not suit everything I'm doing.
Any suggestions or any solutions already found? Any ideas gratefully received.

Your camcorder will only output analogue composite or S-Video which can be put into a VCR. The scart is just a connection adapter and will not do any conversion, so the quality will not be lower by useing this. If your VCR is just VHS then you can only use composite, but if it is SVHS then you can get the added quality of the S-Video output on the cam.
Do you not have an S-Video or even composite connection on your plasma, or are they just used by something else? If they are used by something else then you could always get a switch to add additional inputs, even use an AV receiver if you have one.

Mark.
