Noob looking for some advice

I brought a Samsung VP-L530B around 4 years ago, it does not get used a great deal. When I record from the tape on the camcorder I just connect the connector into my tv or video and record. It has an AV out.

I have now become the owner of a very good PC, and would love to transfer the movies onto my PC and then DVD.

Can anyone recommend a cheap way for me to achieve this, is it actually possible etc, or am I trying to flgo a dead horse!

I do not want to buy another camcorder as this one is not used a great deal.

Any help is appriciated.

Thanks: Gave 15, Got 465
Your camcorder is Hi8 analogue format and therefore it is not as cheap & easy to get the video onto the PC as it would be if it was a digital camcorder. However it can still be done.
The cheapest option is to get a USB2.0 capture device like These but they wont give the best picture quality and often let the video & audio get out of sync. If you want to spend the money then the best option is to get a Canopus ADVC converter from around £150.

Mark.
