Sony HC-42 docking station

Can anyone tell me if I can charge the Sony HC-42 camcorder without the docking station. If I am going on holidays or away somewhere I don't want to have to bring the docking station with me. Also can it be connected to my mac without the dock?

I have the Sony HC22. This can be charged without the docking station. There is a socket at the back of the camcorder that the adaptor fits into. I think the HC42 will be the same

The hc39 and there is a dc in socket on the back where you plug in the charger, the same charger you plug into the dock, I presume the 42 is the same, I took the dock with me on holiday,it was just as easy to drop it on to the dock at night.
Not sure if you can connect Mac without dock, have never tried to.
I must say I have a G5 iMac and have just edited my first home movie, a day trip to France, the Sony and Mac both performed their task's with ease and was a very pleasurable experience, I can recommend either product to anybody.
Its nice when it all works as it should, thanks Sony and Apple.
