The link didn't work for me instead I had to use http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore and then click digital camera on the left menu at the bottom.

Interest. Big CCD and the stills on the cannon site look good but as far as I can tell it doesn't have a true widescreen mode but given such a large CCD I'm not sure on that. It would be interesting so see figures for widescreen resolution but I couldn't find any. LCD is 4:3 and widescreen is shown letterboxed. In view finder it is shown vertically stretched.

Here are some reviews I found. The bottom one is a user who says this model doesn't have the noise that is a problem on other cannons.

I am thinking of upgrading to this model from my existing Canon MV600, will I notice much difference in movie picture quality?

I intend to use the Egg Money card (when it comes through) to get 10% cashback, making the camcorder £270 delivered

Either a Mac or PC will be fine for capture and editing from any digital camcorder - as long as the PC/Mac has a firewire port on it!

Just ordered the MVX25i from Apple Store, the embarrassment of using my 10 year old VHS-C camcorder has become too much to bare with dimensions that make me look like a BBC outside broadcast unit.

ALthough the MVX25i was released in 2004 the specs and reviews look good and for £299 when other online retailers are still listing at £500 to £700 would indicate a real bragain price for a 2 megapixel camcorder at a price that all the online electrical stores are selling sub megapixel camcorders for.

Below is a list of online reviews I have found for the MVX25i, some are listed as Optura 40 which is the U.S. version of this model:

This link is particularly interesting.

Most of all the fact that it's available for $548 in the states. Making £299 about right over here.

A good price I suspect but not and out and out bargain.

Thx for the heads up pebble
I wasn't after a camcorder but I spotted the canon G6 camera for £199, another great bargain as these go for £360+.
Hope you dont mind but I mentioned your post in the camera forum as this shouldn't be missed by anyone.
I got my confirmation email yesterday saying that the goods will be shipped within 10 days

I ordered the Canon camcorder, got the confirmation emails etc.

But today got a strange email telling me my order for an Olympus camera had been cancelled.

I suspect they dropped the prices to shift old stock and now they've ran out,are in the process of cancelling outstanding orders.

All Apple Store discount codes have now expired at end of 2005, Egg have reduced discount when buying with Egg card from 10% to 5%.

Bought the following to go with the MVX25i,

Firewire cable to transfer video to PC, found UK seller on ebay selling them with starting price of 1p, got mine for £1 + £2.99 postage.

2m Firewire 6 pin to 4 pin cable

256MB Fast SD card to store photos to repalce tiny 8mb card supplied with camera, found a good deal on Amazon for a High Speed card, £14.99 including delivery.

256MB High Speed SD Card

I ordered one of these as well along with some accessories from other sites for it. Before I ordered these I contacted Apple and was told they were 'in stock' and would ship in '24 hours'.

After they sent the incorrect email regarding the out of stock Olympus I rang again and they said they had them in stock

How can they now claim not to have received any stock? Especially as they still have them on their site?

What did Apple say about this? I'd like to ring them myself but am unable to do so at the moment.

No e-mail yet though, to explain why...ahh well, never mind, thanks to the OP for highlighting it anyway.

Cheers,

Ordered the MVX200i Wednesday 28th 09:00hrs.
Got a phone call on 29th to confirm my address etc.
Camera arrived yesterday.
Box very dusty, so obviously been sitting on a shelf a long time.
Camera excellent. Half thought it might have been shop soiled, but actually brand spanking new.
