The link didn't work for me instead I had to use http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore and then click digital camera on the left menu at the bottom.

Interest. Big CCD and the stills on the cannon site look good but as far as I can tell it doesn't have a true widescreen mode but given such a large CCD I'm not sure on that. It would be interesting so see figures for widescreen resolution but I couldn't find any. LCD is 4:3 and widescreen is shown letterboxed. In view finder it is shown vertically stretched.

Here are some reviews I found. The bottom one is a user who says this model doesn't have the noise that is a problem on other cannons.

I've just looked and the price now seems to be £299.00!

Looks like they thought it was too much of a bargain!

I am thinking of upgrading to this model from my existing Canon MV600, will I notice much difference in movie picture quality?

I intend to use the Egg Money card (when it comes through) to get 10% cashback, making the camcorder £270 delivered

Either a Mac or PC will be fine for capture and editing from any digital camcorder - as long as the PC/Mac has a firewire port on it!

Mark.

Just ordered the MVX25i from Apple Store, the embarrassment of using my 10 year old VHS-C camcorder has become too much to bare with dimensions that make me look like a BBC outside broadcast unit.

ALthough the MVX25i was released in 2004 the specs and reviews look good and for £299 when other online retailers are still listing at £500 to £700 would indicate a real bragain price for a 2 megapixel camcorder at a price that all the online electrical stores are selling sub megapixel camcorders for.

Below is a list of online reviews I have found for the MVX25i, some are listed as Optura 40 which is the U.S. version of this model:
