Buying my first camcorder

I'd be grateful for your help. Looking to buy a DV camcorder. Never owned one before. Intend to use it for family birthdays, holidays, funerals, etc. Don't need lots of gizmos, but want DV in/out for PC editing. Budget: £500-600.

1. I've narrowed it down to either JVC DVL557 or Panasonic DS38. Any comments on these, or should I be looking at others?

2. Best prices by a long way seem to be at www.krishav.co.uk. I've never heard of them before. Are the prices too good to be true? Has anyone any experience of buying from them?
