JVC MC-500 and iPod

Hi,

Does anybody know if you can use the iPod camera connector to transfer video files from the MC500 to the iPod?

Thanks,
Graham

You couldn't use the ipod in the same way as for example a firestore, the drive isn;t fast enough and it's the wrong connection, however you could transfer the footage from your camcorder onto a PC or mac, the copy the avi files generated onto your ipod, however DVPAL AVI files would be unlikely to play with any stability because of the resolution, compression and bandwitdth.

Depending on what software you on your computer you could save it as something like a low res Mpeg2 or Mpeg, which will still look ok on an ipod videos screen and play this.

You could of course use the ipod as a transfer drive or a storage drive if playback on the ipod itself wasnt required.

Thanks for the info.

It's a shame it can't do it. I wasn't interested in viewing the video on the iPod, just using it to transfer video from the JVC when its 4GB microdrive gets full.

Thanks,
Graham
