Making DV out and AV out in to "IN's"

Making DV out and AV out in to "IN's"

I don't know if this a rumour, but I've been told that the DV out socket and the AV sockets can be turn to IN's is this true, if so how?

Well in the past this was often possible - but even back then not always. However, for the past few years the EU have cracked down on this option being possible and therefore unless the inputs are hardware disabled the cam is taxed as if the inputs worked out of the box, ie more tax payable and therefore more expensive to buy. So all the models released now are totally impossible to get the inputs working without the use of a soldering iron.
If you do have an older model of camcorder then you just might be lucky and be able to enable the inputs. Have a look at somewhere like This and see if any of their widgets are compatable with your model. If your cam is not listed then don't even bother to ask - it wont work!

I re-programmed my Sony PC6E to enable DV-in, but this model is a few years old now. I'm not sure if later models can be enabled, but a little digging on the internet should reveal the answer, once a model number has been found.
