Question need a digital camcorder

just joined and allready hava Q's
i need a camcorder that will get results in limited light, ie have its own light source, and give a good wide angle shot as to get the most from confinned spaces that wont put me on the banks black list. what i want it for is to show off some rooms in a house but rather than have to pan aound the room when you first enter you can see it as a whole then zoom in on demand.

this might sound a little stuped to those of you in the know but im brand new to camcorders(bin living in a cave for the past 100yrs) any help wouldbe great. i live in the shropshire area in the uk so anybody able to link me to an outlet that would allow me to view before i buy would be out of this world.

thanks in advance
john

Camcorders never seem to come with a very wide angle lens as the makers tend to think we all want large zooms instead - which to be fair is mainly the case. Therefore to be able to do what you want you are going to need to add a wide angle converter onto the front of the camcorder. Or if you want really wide a fisheye lens, but this will distort the picture a fair bit.

I suggest that to find a camcorder that you like you need to get out to a shop and play with a few. Once you have a couple of models in mind, and a budget, come back and let us know which ones and we will advise you from there. Once you have picked the model we can also point you in the direction of the wideangle lens as we will need to know the thread size of the camcorders lens so that the correct wide angle lens can be matched to it.

you have got alot of choices in sizes, types etc. Most accept a wide zoom lens accessory but will cost you more money. Sony is the best I think in this field and the lenses are quite good. They sell dvd camcorders now which record directly to a dvd disk but have limited recording time. Consider size as well because lugging it around on your holiday will be awful if it is heavy. There is also 3 ccd device for better quality. Basically this processes each color seperately to get best quality.

I have a pc 115 and it takes great video and okay pics but there are better ones on the market now that do good job of stills as well.
