DV Connectivity lost thru Firewire

says it all really....

I used to be able to connect my DCR-HC21 thru my Firewire card and capture video via DV. Following a catastrophic disk failure and complete reinstall of XP (on a new harddrive), the PC will no longer pick up the camera when connected - plug and play is AWOL.

Anyone got any suggestions how I can get the PC to recognise the camera?

Thanks for your help,

UV

There are a few different known issues with firewire & Windows XP SP2. Micorsoft have issued some hotfixes for these that can be found Here. Have a read through to see if any of them seem to relate to your problem and if so download the relevent hotfix.
