Unhappy MV600 Recording

Now, I'm sure that somebody will tell me that this can't be done.

But, is it possible to record a "source" directly to the MV600. What I have been thinking of doing is copying old video tapes direct to the MV600. Then from there downloading onto the home PC and then converting to DVD. This would mean that I could put nice front end menu's on the DVD's.

This is the alternative to buying a DVD recorder and copying video to DVD directly. I want control and I want to be able to edit the original video tapes as necessary.

Any help would be most useful.

you need the MV600i, unless your cam has the 'i' suffix then it doesn't have analogue input.
Don't buy an MV600i.

Just in case you are wondering why Roy said not to buy the MV600i, get comfortable and start reading Here, and when you've finished reading that thread I'm sure you'll be looking for a different model

Mark.
