JVC Everio MC-200 Jaggies on WMP

We've just invested in the above for the family. It's our first camcorder and think it suits our needs just right.

However, after transfering the files and renaming them from .MOD to .mpg and playing them on Windows Media Player the picture quality is hampered by interlacing when moving. If I play the same file on WinDVD6 it plays perfect?

Does anyone know any settings on WMP to prevent this as this would be my preferred method of initially viewing the movies.
