DCR TRV355E - Head Problem - Advice ?

Hi all.

New user here. Just had my TRV355E out on the beach where it got sand inside it. Awefully dissappointed when I played back the filming I did only to find 3 noise bands accrss the screen extending latterally from left to right - corresponding to the lines on the actual head.

This leads me to think that the head has been scratched ?

Can anyone confirm this for me? or lead me to a self repair or advise anything at all really !

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

Regds.
