Canon MV600i Tape Jammed

One of the teachers at the school I go to switched the camera tape to Non-Erasable mode without telling anyone. So the Computer teacher took the tape out and switched it back to erasable mode so we could film with it. She put the tape back in but then the tape jammed in half way and we could get it fully in or out and every so often it makes this sound which doesn't seem good. Please could some one help.
