What camcorders play analogue 8mm tapes

I'd love some help!, my analogue sony camcorder died leaving me with lots old tapes to copy to DVD, but I have a camcorder which now plays the tiny tapes. So I would like to buy an old camcorder but which one?

If you mean you want to buy a digital camcorder to play back your old 8mm analogue tapes then there are a few of the Sony Digital8 camcorders that will play back video8 & Hi8 tapes, but not all of them.
If you just want a cheap analogue cam to play the old tapes then get a Hi8 camcorder. If it is just for replay then a second hand unit should be fine and therefore save you a few £££'s.

Thats great a hi 8 camcorder as opposed to to a digital hi 8, that explains why my brotherin laws new camera won't play his old tapes, obvious now TY
