Help. Stupid question probably but...

I have just bought a canon MV-730i and I dont know how to get the footage Ive shot with the camcorder onto my computer. What exactly do I need to do? I know nothing about camcorders as you have probably guessed but Id really appreciate some help.

Use an i-link cable to connect your camcorder to your PC.

Turn on camcorder & set it to playback mode.

Launch video editing application on your PC & then capture directly through Video application which should be able to control your camcorder.

iLink aka firewire, ieee1394 or DV port

Most modern PCs wil have a firewire port, but if not you can easily add it with a PCI firewire card that just plugs into the motherboard. It should cost around £10 for the card and should include the reuired firewire cable.
If you already have firewire on the PC then just get a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable.

Mark.
