Recording from VCR to Canon MV700i

HELP!!!

I've had no problem recording from an analogue camcorder,
but when I connect it to a VCR, I don't get any sound or
picture (I've tried recording from a Matsui tv/video combi,
a Toshiba V243, and a SEG 302).

Any suggestions!?

How are you connecting the VCR to the cam? Are you useing the lead that cam with the camcorder with the supplied phono to scart adaptor? If so then this will be the problem as this is designed for connecting to a TV etc to play from the cam, it will not work the other way around. Go to somewhere such as Maplins and get a switchable scart adaptor and you should find it works.
