JVC MiniDV DVL805u

I have had this camera for a year or so. It uses firewire and use to work when I plugged into my computer. I'm running windows xp pro. For some reason it just stopped getting detected. I have never dropped or spilt anything on it. What is and could be wrong and how do I fix it?

HI IVE GOT A JVC GR-DVL20E AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME HOW DID U SORT IT CAUSE IM HAVING PROBLEMS SORTING IT OUT,EVEN NEW CARD AND CABLES DONT WORK
