sony trv38 ntsc to pal?

hi, i purchased a trv38 sony mini dv cam about 2 years ago from america while i was over there, now being digital i didnt realise they recorded in the countries tv system, i would have expected it to be a universal digital storage rather than tv mode.
now weve recorded a university project half in ntsc and half on another camera in pal, so its gonna be a headache sorting that, but what id like to know is.....
is there any software, like flashing the bios on things i can do to make the camera pal. Is there any hardware mods that can be done as i know a very good electrician.

any help is welcomed as im stuck

TBH there is no way (that I know of) to convert a camcorder between NTSC & PAL (in either direction).
The 2 TV standards a very different even down to the speed the tape travels at in the camcorder, the refresh rate and the way the colour information is stored. Also NTSC is lower resolution than PAL, so the quality is going to be slightly lower to start with.
Your only options are to either replace the camcorder (expensive) or convert the format of the video (expensive and causes loss of quality).

Mark.
