I am trying to connect my digital camcorder to my standalone dvd recorder. The firewire link works fine but I want an analogue signal so I get the time/date stamp. I recently bought a s-video and 3.5mm to scart all in one cable as I thought this maybe a good option. Connected the cam to the recorder via scart but I only get a black and white picture ! Checked that the recorder has s-video inputs for compatability just to make sure it can accept the signal. Anyone have any ideas otherwise I will have to revert to firewire.

It certainly sounds like an s-video/composite video type problem. Have you checked your camera av out settings? Maybe if you change those you may put the colour back in your cheeks!!!

Thanks for the reply ! It never even crossed my mind that there maybe a setting on the cam, I will check it when I get home tonight.
