Have just bought above camcorder (cheap!). Everything works when no tape is in, but as soon as a tape is inserted, it seems to thread but then de-threads and switches off (almost like a condensation problem, but it doesn't show in the viewfinder and the camcorder is warm and dry) and does not eject the tape. Anybody any ideas please??

Thats a VHS-C camcorder now around 10 years old - could just be completely worn out.

This series uses several surface mount flexible cable connectors, the actual socket lifts from pcb and needs to be resoldered, 3 on main pcb and one on
servo/drive pcb which is most likely, but due to its age, maybe other problems also, hard to say

Thanks to both of you for the replies. I suspect that PCB connections are a problem - it would appear that the main drive isn't working - whilst the tape threrads and the heads spin, the tape doesn't start to spool. I will need to investigate further.
