stoopid question about firewire / mac / canon

appologies - i couldnt find a related thread that answered my novice fool question:

please does anyone know how to upload video from Canon MVX250i to a Mac? i am starting from scratch here in terms of knowledge / wires. i have a camera with a piddly usb cable for uploading card data - and a mac. it's the video footage that is the fun stuff i want to play with though - but don't know if the mac will recognise the Canon when plugged in with a firewire?

You will need a firewire 4pin to 6pin cable.

Just plug it in then run Movie or whatever you are editing with.
