Sony VX2100 problem.

After reinstalling XP trying to get my FireWire port to work I finally gave up, took the camera to my mates who has same camera and plugged it into his PC and nothing. Plugs his camera in and it works. So my IEEE port is nackered! Problem is the company I bought the camera from (Techtronics) has gone bust. So now it looks like im going to have to send the camera to a repair center myself.

not neceassarily, depending on the programme on your mates pc, you can alter the OHCI language version from DV Generic to one better suited for your camera.

sony should honour the warranty though you may have to pay a handling charge for a sony dealer to send it for you.
