Video Codecs - Please Help

Guys,

This is probably the wrong forum but the main question, in my mind, falls under video editing!!!!

I'm legitamitly trying to rip my DVD's to a format where I can store them on my Xbox (Jukebox Style). I've tried using Divx but kind of find the picture fluffy (Seems pointless losing that much PQ when all I have to do is get out of my chair and put the actual disc in). I'm ripping them as 720x576 and using the slowest methods to get the best quality but still not happy.

Is there a codec you guys can recommend or a package that will allow me to take the best picture quality and even the AC3 stream and put it into a viable end product?????

Thanks in Advance for your help!!!
Stace
