Fast transfer from cam to pc?

I've managed to set up my Panasonic NV-GS11EB mini DV cam up to my PC via Firewire and I can transfer movies to my PC using various software, all working perfectly now.

At the moment I have to play the entire tape and record it 'realtime' - ie it takes me an hour to transfer an hour of footage

As the format on the mini DV tapes is digital, is there a way of transferring everything off a tape in one quick copy in the same way you copy jpgs off a digital camera?

Thumbs up

You could try Scenalyzer which does a great job of capturing video.
