Hi,

I have a non digital Sanyo camcorder and want to transfer all the tapes onto my pc for DVD burning. I dont have firewire installed on the pc or the c/c.

I would like to use an external capture device if possible perhaps USB2 can anyone make a reccomendation, I know TRUST do one for £45!

Advice appreciated.

Hi Bad_D0G and welcome to the forum

There are many USB2.0 capture devices that can be used but they only offer limited quality. Therefore if quality is important to you then they are best avoided. There biggest advantages are ease of connection and their cheap prices.
If you want the best possible quality then I would suggest you put a firewire card in your PC for around £10 and then get an external analogue to DV converter such as one of the Canopus ADVC units that cost from around £150 up.
