Recc's for replacement dig camcorder?

Could anybody recommend some good models? After using a Canon MV750i for a few months & thinking what a great buy i had, ive finally come to transfer the footage & when watched there is a constant motor noise, very annoying! Also picture is grainy unless outside in daylight. Luckily the shop have agreed to let me return it so now am looking out for new model. Budget is up to £1000 maximum & my requirements are obviousy great picture but particularly no motor noise & good picture in lower light (both v.important as most of my recording is indoors, quiet & non-daylight). Thinking about the Sony DCR-PC350, only concern is wether as the unit is so small it would pick up motor noise. Any advice appreciated, thanks.
