Sony DCR-PC350 or HC 1000

which camera produces better video quality?

I understand the HC 1000 is a 3ccd cam while the 350 is a single chip. Does this mean that video quality is much better. Also why are the prices so similar?

I'm not interested in the 3ccd panasonic - don't really need a semi pro camcorder and not interested in the ability to take photos.

Does anyone know of any highstreet store that stocks the HC 1000 so i can see how big the thing is?
