Has anyone ever used one of these and if so can it easily be connected to a pc without firewire? Also would it work with windows 7? Thanks

I see no reason why it shouldn't. Amazon have a very good returns policy and Maplin are reputable. Just don't be dissapointed when you see how bad VHS was compared to digital.
