Cool Neophite asks "getting videoHi8 onto XP laptop?"

Hi,
Last night watched an hour of unedited v8. What a bore!! I'd like to get it on my laptop and do some simple editing. I'd also like to edit the sound.

My camcorder (sony trv67e) has yellow and black jacks plus a multi prong tiny din like female.

My compaq LAPTOP has 1gb ram 2.2ghz, 20gb available on hd XP. I/R and usb.

I've got moviemaker.

Questions.
How can I get the tape onto my HD?

How can I edit the sound?

Thanks in advance to any learned forumite(s).

Hi beachboy and welcome to the forum

I think This thread should answer your question as it is very similar. If you need any more advise then ask away.

Mark.
