General microphone question

Hi
I have a panasonic 120 camcorder, the q is can you use any microphone
on any camcorder? Assuming the microphone is stereo. I want one
that can rest on the top of the camcorder, I don't know if this is a
standard fitting or camcorder specific?
Whats the cheapest microphone you can get that cuts down on wind noise.
Doesn't have to be fanastic, just appreciably better than the one the
camcorder comes with, it'll only be for family type captures.

Most camcorder mics will fit any camcorder.

You can find a wide range of mics from here www.keene.co.uk

To cut down on wind noise you need a wind gag which fits over your excisting mic or the one you will buy, costs about £25-30
