Anyone else ordered from Simply - are they any good?? hopefully it should come quickly as there shows 70 in stock

Yes a friend bought a Canon MVX250I from them in november for £249,We have one ourselves and since using the camcorder have been very impressed with its performance. I will shortly be using it to record a friends Rock band at a charity gig in london, Will let you know how the camcorder performs. The customer service from simply computers is excellent, My friend ordered the canon on the saturday and it was delivered on the tuesday. Sorry I typed the price wrong the correct price was £449 and not £249.

Pebble, Ive discovered that www.simply.co.uk is now http://www.misco.co.uk. and the Canon MVX250I is now £445.33. Has anyone got a CanonMVX25oI and what do they think of it? 4445 seems a good price, almost too good toi be true !!! I cant believe G0UDG's friend got a Canon MVX250I from them in november for £249!!!

Timse1981 ,

I think it's a great camcorder. Brilliant PQ.
It's my first camcorder , so I've nothing to compare it against.
Goto http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/v...b583a5912ba534 sit and you should get a few comments( all good) there on the MVX 250i.

Hope this helps

Hi Timse1981 sorry about the typing mistake I was half asleep when I posted on here, To answer your question on performance the mvx250i I have performs excellent in all lighting conditions with no sign of any grain even in low light, The one piece of advice I have is to switch off the auto slow shutter when shooting footage handheld as the speed selected is too slow. I also use a sony HVL20DM Video light with the MVX250i which greatly improves the performance both indoors and out. I hope this is of use to you

Thanks G0UDG,

Ive read good reviews of the Canon MVxxx series in video mags. Ive also heard that the Canon MVxxx series pics up a lot of noise from the mechanism does the Canon MVX250i suffer from this?

Hi Timse1981 The info about the microphone picking up motor noise on Canons MVX series camcorders is totally incorrect I have tried out the MVX25i the MVX35i and also the MVX10i as well as my own MVX250i None of these pick up motor noise using them all in recording conditions without background noise NO motor noise was picked up by the built in mic on any of these.

The sound quality from the built in microphones on these camcorders is very good. I have owned my MVX250i for about 6 months now and am very impressed by its performance (Even without the video light), I will be using it to record my friends bands warm up gigs I will let you know how it performs. I hope this is of use to you

RE:MVX250i

Yes the Canon MVX250i has an intelligent hotshop which powers an external Microphone or other external video accessory such as a video light, sockets such as an external mic socket and a USB terminal are also there as well as the usual dv in and out and AD/DA CONVERTER. The MVX250i works well as a webcam also I tried it out last night for the first time with great results. Hope this helps.
