Panasonic NV-GS57GC (Digital Video camera)

I have a Panasonic NV-GS57 with a DV output & a USB connection. I connected it to PC through USB connection, turned the camera on and selected either PC or PLAYBACK mode. Then I ran SWEET MOVIE LIFE software and clicked on “EDIT VIDEO ON TAPE”
I got the error message “Digital video camera not connected.”
I’m lost, any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Te NV GS57GC is a miniDV camcorder, so you will need to use the Firewire connection, to transfer your video to the computer.
The USB connection will be for transferring still images only.

It depends on your PC having a firewire (iee1394) port or if not you will have to fit one. Additionally you need a firewire cable normally a mini connector on one end for the camera and a full size one for the PC end.

See the 4 circuit and 6 circuit connectors here
