Keep pressing the snapshot button in error

I have a JVC GR-DVL557 camcorder and I have at last got the hang of it; however when out and about filming I quite often press the snapshot button in error, which is next to focus button. I can`t see anything in the instructions that says how to disable it, has anyone else had this problem? I find that a shot of my right foot appears, which then has to be edited out!

It's no better on the 2004 JVCs: I have one (GR-D32U) and do the same thing occasionally ;-(
On mine, it's wedged between the menu dial and the zoom lever, just above the manual/auto focus selector button.
I guess it's one of the downsides to having a small camera...they have to bunch up the buttons, and then people complain 'cause there aren't MORE buttons (instead of a menu).
