Canon?

I am on the lookout for a camcorder. The price has to be about 350£ and has to have at least 18*optical zoom. I have been thinking of buying a "Canon mv730i" but I have no idea if it is a good camera..

Does anyone have some advice on what to do?

i've tried the canon mv700 which is basically the same but less featured and i wasn't too impressed.
It records the noise from the tape motor which is quite irritating and also its not too good in low light conditions.
