replacment for JVC GR-DVL9000?

Hi,

I had the use of the JVC GR-DVL9000 miniDV camcorder for the last couple of years and I’m now looking to buy an equivalent machine. Iv just tried the entry level JVC GR-D20 and was surprised to find that for an 800k machine the picture quality is poor in anything less than full sunlight. A cloudy day produced a lot of grain. In comparison, the 9000 beats it hands down on most areas. Can anyone give me some pointers on a good replacement for the 9000, JVC or other?
