canon FS100 zooms itself

hi folks
I have a canon fs100 and I have a slight annoying problem.
The camera zooms itself whether it's recording or just standing still powered on as if the W-T button was being slightly pushed to the right. This happens randomly. It may not happen for the next 5 minutes, then suddenly happens.

Has anybody ever experienced such annoying thing and what have you done to fix it?
Unfortunately my 1yr warranty is up so Canon said they can't do nothing so to send it in.

Why do things always happen after the warranty expires?

It always happens like that, there must be a fault with your cam that is going to need attention, its a strange one.
