Canon Legria HF200 - Rode Videomic wont fit! Am I missing something?

Hello,

Just recieved a rode videomic that I bought for my canon hf200 but so disappointed, it doesnt fit in the mini advanced shoe.

Am i missing an extra accessory because the bottom of the videomic, black square thing wont insert in the advanced shoe placement, appears to be wider?

Please help, I bought it from Keene Electronics: Camera Mountable

Thanks!

N

I think there is a modified attachment for the Canon ( and Sony)
Amazon.com: Adorama Canon Mini Advanced Accessory Shoe to Universal Shoe Adapter (FLAT TYPE) - Black: Camera & Photo

Rode Videomic

Does anyone know if this adapter has integral connections?

I need one for a Canon HFM306 camcorder (has advanced mini shoe fitting) but I don't have a seperate jack input. Will a standard shoe microphone "connect" to the camcorder via the adaptor?

I have the Hague adapter. It has no connections at all so if you don't have a separate mic input it won't help.
