Help needed in transfering data - please

Please can you help me....

I have a JVC HD Hard Disk Camcorder (GZ-HD6EK) [/B]which i've been recording video on.

I now need to transfer this onto DVD

I went and bought a DVD burner (mondel no CU-VD40) and managed to transfer to DVD

I can play the DVD back on TV using HDMI cable connected directly from the burner to the TV

However when i try and play the DVD in laptops, it's not coming up with anything...

Please Please can anyone help me?
Thanks

Re: Help needed in transfering data - please

Unfortunately you can't play the discs on a normal DVD player. From the camera instruction manual:

• This disc cannot be played in a normal DVD
player. Use one of the following methods to
view the disc.
- Playback the disc using the camera.
(“To play back the created disc using the
camera” p. 30)
- Playback the disc using a DVD burner.*
- Playback on a PC.*
* The disc must first be finalised on the camera.

To produce DVD's playable on a DVD player you would need to transfer them from the camera to a PC, edit and process them, and then write to a standard DVD-Video, but they would be converted into standard definition. Alternatively process and edit them in HD and write to a BD-R or DVD-R and play on a Bluray player.

It would also be possible to just download the files to the laptop and play the files from there with the appropriate software, assuming the laptop is powerfull enough.

Someone who is familiar with editing JVC .TPD files is better placed to tell you how this can be done.
