Thank you for contacting us and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.
I have already informed our Accounting department regarding the refund of your order and they confirmed that they that they are still in the process of doing this. Re: Simply Electronics... Encore...

You didn't get a refund even after ten days, and yet you placed a second order anyway?

I agree with you on this, ive odered a nikon d5000 with 18-55mm vr lens...
guess what???

they've taken my £477.95 pounds that i have been saving, and not even put anything in my outstanding orders or order history, although i do have an email from them saying ive placed the oder.I sent an email to vanessa explaining my problem, i must admit that im being slightly impatient, although im worried after seeing all of the 1* rated negative feedback.
Heres my email ive sent to vanessa... i appologize if it makes no sence im young and fustrated

"Dear Vanessa,
I’ve recently gotten a friend to purchase my Christmas present for me via simplyelecronics.net, I was stunned by the reasonable price of the NIKON D5000, I created a account followed by placing my order, and purchasing it. Then I found that it has not appeared in my order list(unsure of correct directory), although my friend did have a confirmation via email with the item Tracking id (the bunch of numbers used to find youre order), that the item had been purchased, I’m not currently able to access that evidence at this time as it is obviously set up in someone else’s name both account and email, also the £477.95 for my order has been withdrawed from her bank account, if I do not get a response within one week (note that i also paid for express delivery) I WILL be taking this further to trading standards and if this is still not resolved I shall contact credit card fraud investigation, I apologize for my negative rants, although I paid for this with my own money (aged 14) and I’m very disappointed with this happening.

Regards E. Edwards

(PS I shall send the item order number tomorrow as i currently do not have access to communicate with the account holder)"
Just hope that i dont get into the kind of problems you guys and girls have had with the endless weeks of no communication or the famous "DAMAGED BOX, MUST BE RETURNED" im 99% sure this is going to happen, oh well looks as though there isnt going to be a christmas for me...

I ADVISE ALL FELLOW "BUYERS" NOT TO PURCHACE FROM SIMPLYELECTRONICS.NET

this order is currently on hold awaiting confirmation from you for further information. An email as noted below was sent on 22nd Dec. concerning this:

"We understand that you have made the following purchases from us on (December 21, 2009), and we are delighted that you have chosen us for your products.

Your order(s) have been passed on to the processing team, but regrettably they have been put on hold. Please review the following items being held:

Nikon Digital SLR D5000 w/ 18-55mm VR Lens Kit and All in One Card Reader (Free Xmas Gift)

Due to recent increases in the number of fraud transactions on e-commerce sites, we are required to perform verification checks on customers to authenticate payment authorisations. This is to protect consumers and online retailers such as ourselves, as we are committed to preventing fraud and reporting any known cases to the police and relevant banks. The address check system we use is obtained using our credit card company and RBS WorldPay; both of which are reputable companies with high representations in the UK online market.

Further to this, we want to reassure you that we respect your privacy and your security completely, and will not pass on your information to any third parties. We are a reputable company with offices based in Newbury and the Isle of Wight, and have had excellent feedback on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace.

In order for us to proceed with this order, we would like to request clear identification documents to be submitted.

You may wish to email us scanned copies of these documents to me directly at leslie@simplyelectronics.net.

Documents to be submitted should include:

1. The front copy of the card you used to purchase. You may wish to block out some numbers. We only need to check the last four digits of the card and the card holder’s name.

2. A proof of address in the form of a utility bill. (We need either a current gas, water or electricity bill.)

The submission of the following (in addition to the above two) is OPTIONAL to help us process the verification: photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving license.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter, and we will ensure that this process will go through as smooth as possible for you.

We look forward to your response; should you have any further queries or concerns regarding this request, please do not hesitate to include them in your reply, or call us on 0203 393 8258.

Thank you"

Vanessa Carroll

Can't say that I've experienced the same problem as most of you guys had.

I've placed an order for a Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 with SE on the 12th Dec and was advised by their sales team that my item will be delivered within 5-6 days and they are definately have them in stock.

By the 21st Dec the item still have not arrive and still showing "processing" on my account page (Begining to worries) so I emailed Vanessa who replied to my email within the hour of sending.

She have look into my case and within an hour the status change from "Processing" to "Packing" and she also upgraded to Specially Delivery free of charge.

By 23rd, 1pm my Tokina was at my front door.

As far as my experience with SE goes.. I have to give them especially to Venessa.

If you guys still having outstanding issues I suggest you contact Vanessa directly as I think she's the only one who can get the job done (right).

I also have had good experience with s e.

Ordered a panny hd camcorder on 8th dec,had follow up email etc and tracking instructions. All worked well and had del.on 21st dec.

Saved over £200 on Jessops and dixons price.

I had read the negative reports but decided to give them a try and was not disapointed.

the account holder did not feel secure supplying them with card details and utility bill also the mentioning of the optional "photo id" so thats main reason...

simply electronics good experience

I ordered a Sunpak rd2000 flash, £59.00, £10.00 cheaper than anyone else plus free shipping on thursday night around 7PM, got follow up email with tracking about 3 hours later, another email saying my item had been shipped on friday afternoon and it arrived in perfect condition just before 9am on saturday morning. I consider around 36 hours from ordering to delivery a pretty good service. By the way, I paid with paypal, don't know if this made any difference.

I think it is safe to say SE can deliver at times , and at others just get it spectacularly and completely wrong
I dont feel it is appropriate after 1224 posts over 82 pages of the linked thread below to continue to endorse or rebuke them with one-off posts
