Hi,

In a few days time I hope to take delivery of my first camcorder, a Canon Legria HF200. I am looking for an external mic, and possibly a Wireless Lavalier type. I have spent some time on Youtube looking at various mics people use, and listening to some of their reviews. Most seem to be in the USA, but as I am new to this, I don't want to spend money on something that is not suitable.

I don't have a heap of money to use after buying the camcorder, so any mic has to be 'affordable'. i.e. inexpensive.

Two questions:

1: Can anyone suggest a suitable wireless lavalier type set up that I could use on the Canon HF200?

2: Does anyone have a recommended source here in the UK, who might have a website that I could check out, in order to source the mic I am looking for?
