Stuck tape in JVC GR-DVL767

Question Stuck tape in JVC GR-DVL767
Just tried to start recording and an E01 error appeared. I removed the battery as instructed on screen and left it for a few minutes before reconnecting. However, it won't record or play and the tape will not eject. I whirrs a bit whe nI open the cover to eject the tape but then stops.

Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.
