Hard Drive or SD Card etc

Hi guys,

I'm looking at getting a new camcorder and I like the look of the Panasonic HS200 anb HSD200.

Can those of you who know tell me the pros and cons of the internal hd over the removable memory models.

Cheers.

Re: Hard Drive or SD Card etc

I think it is down to personal preference.

I prefer SD storage because it makes the camera smaller, and I find it easier to transfer the footage. Also, if the camera gets stolen or the media corrupts, I only stand to lose what is on my last SD card, rather than everything.

The HS200 is £150 more expensive than the SD200 at Amazon, and you could buy 80GB of flash memory for that.

Having said that, if you are going to be using it a lot then the large HDD will save you the hassle of changing SD cards and carrying spares. A 16Gb card takes two hours of footage at the highest quality on these camcorders, though, so it is not a massive problem.

Re: Hard Drive or SD Card etc

I got two 4G cards off ebay.
So I can use one in the Camera and one on my PC.
I got a USB reader from the pound shop. And can also use them as USB memory sticks.
